Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented Indian actors of contemporary times. He has appeared in of Bollywood’s major films which include Black Friday, Kahani, New York, Peepli Live, Gangs of Wasseypur, Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2 and Paan Singh Tomar. Before starting his career in acting, he used to work as chemist in a petrochemical company Vadodara for about a year. He made his Bollywood debut in the year 1999 by doing a small part in Aamir Khan starrer, Sarfarosh. Despite his impressive acting skills, he was out of work for next few years. In 2015, he was praised for his incredible acting in Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manjhi – The Mountain Man. He had also acted in a horror film called Aatma. He has received the Best Actor award at the New York Indian Film Festival for his performance in the 2017 film Haramkhor. His first lead role in a feature film was in PATANG by Prashant Bhargava which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. His performance was appreciated by world famous film critic Roger Ebert, who awarded the film 4 star. He had to struggle a lot before he got his deserving recognition by receiving the Special Jury Award at the 2012 National Film Awards. Some of his recent films wherein he gave noteworthy performance are The Lunchbox, Badlapur, Kick and Bombay Talkies. He won two awards for the movie The Lunchbox, which include Filmfare Awards and Renault Star Guild Awards for the category of Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born 19 May 1974 in Budhana, a small town in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Born into a poor Muslim family of farmers, he was brought up with his seven brothers and two sisters. His younger brother Shamaas Nawab Siddiqui is a film director.
Siddiqui is married to Anjali Siddiqui and has two children named, Shora and Yaani. His son Yaani was born on his 41st birthday.
