Famous for her comedy series Saturday Night Live, Kristen Wiig or Kristen Carroll Wiig is an American actress, writer, comedian, and producer. She was born on August 22, 1973, in Canandaigua, New York. Her father is Jon Wiig (Norwegian and Irish background) and her mother is Laurie (English and Scottish background), an artist. “Wiig” is a name of the origin Sogn OG jordan in Norway.
At the age of 3, Wiig shifted to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and completed her middle-grade till 8th over there. At the age of 13, Kristen moved to Rochester, New York and finished 9th and 10th grades at Brighton High School. Since she didn’t have any interest in acting, she finished her college from the University of Arizona and majored in Fine Arts. Later she took acting classes and continued to act based on her teachers’ suggestion and moved to Los Angeles.
Initially, she took odd jobs to support her needs. She has performed with The Groundlings. Later, she appeared in the TV show The Joe Schmo Show. She made her debut in TV with season 31 in 2005 and later continued with season 32 (2006-2012). She appeared in Saturday Night Live TV series (2009-2012). In 2011, Kristen voiced for the TV series The Looney Tunes Show. She also performed at the 2015 Grammy awards and at a live show in Manila in August 2016.
Kristen made her film debut in 2006 in the movie Unaccompanied Minors. She appeared in Knocked up (2007), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Ghost Town(2008), Adventure land (2009), Extract (2009), Whip It(2009), Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2(2010), How to train your Dragon (2010), How to train your Dragon 2(2010), All Good Things(2010), Paul (2011), Bridesmaids (2011) – grossed over $280 million worldwide, and The Skeleton Twins (2014).
She appeared in the video during the Nostalgia for the Present concert tour of her song “one million bullets”.
