An earthquake is the noticeable shake of the earth’s crust, resulting from the abrupt release of energy from the crust which creates seismic waves. These quakes can be either mild or harsh or sometimes even unnoticeable. The earthquakes are identified with a sensitive instrument called as seismometer. When the epicenter of a large earthquake is found beneath sea, there are possibilities of tsunamis which causes mass destruction. The quakes cause huge loss to the infrastructure, results in loss of countless lives and makes the economy of the country poorer. The after effects of a huge quake can bring in new diseases, mental consequences such as panic attacks etc. Though India is not in an earthquake prone region, it has witnessed numerous quakes.
