K-pop refers to the popular music of South Korea. K-pop is a fun, lively and extremely creative musical art form. It is not only pleasurable to the ears, but also visually stunning, as these Korean pop idols put forth grueling hours learning new dance routines for their music videos and state productions. Indeed, the world of K-pop is not only desired, but it is extremely competitive, only the best enter and only the strong survive.

10. Minho – Shinee
Shinee is one of the greatest boy bands ever, and has scored a good number of chart topping hits. Minho the hottest looking guy is the designated rapper of the band. According to Fanpop, his father is a soccer coach in Iran, but even though Minho is passionate about the sport, his father did not allow him to become a soccer star, as he deemed it to be too tiring for his son. Choi Minho was born on December 9, 1991, he is not only a rapper, but also an actor and model. Choi Minho was chosen to become of member of SHINee when he auditioned for a casting call by S.M. Entertainment in 2006, trained for two years, until the debut of SHINee in 2008. He secured his first acting role in the 2010 Kdrama, “Pianist” and continued in dramas such as “To the Beautiful You” (2012), “Because It’s the First Time” (2015) and “Hwarang” (2016).
9. Siwan – ZE: A
Award winning & handsome personality Yim Si-wan was born on December 1, 1988 in Busan, South Korea, and is a vocalist, actor and television presenter. He is not only a vocalist, but is also an accomplished violinist and guitarist, and is known widely by his stage name, Siwan and is a member of the South Korean boy band, ZE:A, and subgroup, ZE:A Five. His most famous starring role was in the 2013 film, “The Attorney”, and the television series, “Misaeng” in 2014. From 2012 to 2014, Siwan has been chosen to be a Goodwill ambassador for his country, and performed his duties most satisfactorily. For 2017, he is currently working on the MBC series, “The King Loves” as Wang Won, along with 2 films: “One Line”, as Min-Jae, and “Hooligan”, as Hyun-soo.
8. Taecyeon – 2PM
Taecyeon is a super hot rapper in the South Korean band, 2PM, and also works as an actor starring in the series, “Dream High”. As a keen bit of trivia, when he signs his autographs, he often includes strange drawings of cats. His fans have nicknamed these drawings, “Okcats”, which has since developed into a clothing line which feature these drawings. Taecyeon is also known as Ok Taecyeon and was born OK Taek Yeon, on December 27, 1988. He entered the entertainment world by auditioning for JYP Entertainment for the reality show, “Superstar Survival”, then in 2008 participated in the reality show, “Hot Blood Men”. He became a member of 2PM in 2008, and acted in his first role in 2010’s “Cinderella’s Sister”.
7. Doojoon – BEAST
South Korean rapper, actor, songwriter and vocalist, Doojoon, is a member of the boy band BEAST, and also acts. Doojoon won an MBC Entertainment Award for his role in the Korean comedy series, “All My Love”. He is also an athlete, and plays in the celebrity soccer team, FC MEN. Yoon Doo-joon was born on July 4, 1989 in Goyang, South Korea. After watching a documentary on the band, Big Bang, he asked his parents to enroll him in music school, after which he began to audition as a singer. He received his degree in post modern musicology from Kyung Hee Cyber University, and is currently attending Dongshin University with a major in Broadcast Entertainment.
6. Sung-jae – BTOB
Yook Sung-jae is a multi talented performer, actor, vocalist, dancer, who is currently with the South Korean boy band, BTOB. As far as acting goes, Sungjae has performed in “Plus Nine Boys”, “Who Are You: School 2015”, and “Real Men”. Sung-jae was born on May 2, 1995 in South Korea, but was schooled in the Philippines. Before he made his 2012 singing debut with BTOB, he had an acting stint on the series, “Living in Chungdamdong”, after which he starred in dramas such as “Monstar” (2013), “Reply 1994” (2013), “Plus Nine Boys” (2014). He also performed in the extremely popular show, 2016’s “Goblin”. He is currently working on the 2017 series “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”, playing as Yoo Deok-hwa.
5. T.O.P – Big Bang
T.O.P. is the lead vocalist rapper for the South Korean hip hop boy band, Big Bang. He is also a successful artist and won the “Rookie Award” for “Commitment” at the Busan International Film Festival. As an interesting bit of trivia, his first gigs rapping were as Tempo, an underground artist before he found fame. T.O.P was born Choi Seung-hyun on November 4, 1987. His responsibilities include: Rapping, songwriting, being a record producer, as well as acting. His chosen musical genres are Kpop and hip hop. T.O.P. is currently working on a film to be released in 2017 called, “Out of Control”, where he plays the main protagonist, Tom Young.
4. Taehyung – BTS
Taehyung is also known as ‘V’. He is a South Korean hip hop performer and works with the band he joined in 2011, the “Bangtan Boys” or BTS for short. His solo work has seen hits such as “2 Cool 4 Skool” and “Boy in Luv”. He made his first appearance with BTS on June 13, 2013 singing, “No More Dream” . Taehyung was born on December 30, 1995 in the Seo District, Daegu, South Korea, and grew up playing the sax. He enjoys an eclectic taste in music and according to him, he spends hours searching for music no one is familiar with. A bit of trivia, is that he enjoys collecting large, over sized dolls.
3. Yunho – TVXQ
Singer, songwriter, dancer and actor, Yunho has plenty on his plate at all times. Born Jung Yun-ho on February 6, 1986 in Gwangsan, Swangju, South Korea, he is simply known by his stage name, Yunho, or U-Know. After auditioning for S.M. entertainment in 2001, Yunho spent 2 years training not only his voice, but dance moves, which must have paid off as he was given the nickname of “K-pop’s Dancing King” by fans and critics alike. When training was completed, he was chosen for the boy band TVXQ, in 2003, which went on to be an international sensation. He began his acting career in 2006 with the SBS miniseries, “Banjun Theater”, followed up by “Rainbow Romance”. He is currently doing his mandatory enlisted military service and will be discharged on April 20, 2017.
2. D.O. – EXO
D.O. , or Do Kyung Soo, is the lead vocalist of the Kpop boy band, EXO-K, and his personal motto is to “Be number one”. His role model is composer, Yoo Young Jin and his favorite music is pop. He enjoys watching fantasy films, eating spaghetti and considers himself to be on the quiet side. D.O. was born on January 12, 1993 in the Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, and works primarily as a vocalist and actor. In 2010 he auditioned for the talent agency, S.M. Entertainment, was chosen, and trained for 2 years. He currently has 3 films for 2017, which include: “Underdog”, “With God”, and “Room 7”.
1. L – Infinite
The most handsome K-pop boy Kim Myung-soo, or “L”, was born on March 13, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea, and is a member if the Kpop boy band: INFINITE, and sub group, INFINITE F, and reportedly decided he wanted to be a singing star after watching vocalist Craig David perform, and is an admirer of the South Korean band, DBSK. He also loves to play the guitar and is a fan of reading “Naruto”, Bleach”, and “One Piece”. His preferred genres of music are Kpop and Jpop, and he works as both a vocalist and actor, appearing on variety shows, as well as performing hosting duties. For 2017, he has several projects lined up. First, the television drama “Ruler: Master of the Mask”, playing Lee Sun. Second, the film, “Mr. Shark”.
Each of these individuals handsome Korean Pop Idol had to endure at least two years of training before they were put in front of an audience in their respective boy band. K-pop is an industry, it is a business, and the product is music, happiness and much joy to all the fans that partake of its music.
